Our Rabbi

 Rabbi Avi (Avraham) Perets joined us in 2002, accompanied by his lovely wife, Mira, and their three children: Ron, Matan, and Eden. Born and reared in Jerusalem, he attended schools in both Israel and the United States, earning multiple degrees. His background also includes service as a paratrooper and medic in the IDF.

Rabbi Avi’s participation in professional organizations, both Jewish and non-Jewish, has enriched our entire community. His long tenure here bespeaks our mutual love and respect. Along with his devotion to Judaism, he also shares his wisdom, vision, dedication, quick wit, and, perhaps above all, his humanity. 

We are honored and proud to have Rabbi Avi serving our spiritual needs at Temple Emanu-El.
